Q. Can I get a free trial of your services?
A. Yes, when you sign-up for an account with Data24-7, we automatically add 15 cents to your prepaid balance for testing purposes.
Q. What does the Text@ service do?
A. If you are interested in sending text messages or picture text messages to cell phones, our service is a very inexpensive way to accomplish this. You send us the phone numbers of the cell phones you would like to contact, and the text@ service will return two e-mail addresses; one for SMS messages, and one for MMS messages. You can then send messages to the phones via e-mail by using these addresses.
Q. How can I access the service?
A. Once you sign up, you have three options. You can type-in the phone numbers one-by-one via our website, you can upload the phone numbers to us in a text file, or you can use our API to integrate our service into your software application.
Q. Do you guys send text messages?
A. No, we provide you with the e-mail addresses so that you can send the messages yourself.
Q. How do I send the text messages out?
A. Once our service supplies you with the e-mail addresses, you can send the messages as you would regular e-mails. If you want to send a picture text, use the MMS address that we return to you, and simply include the image(s) as e-mail attachments. Note that the image files you send should be as small as possible.
Q. How much does the service cost?
A. There's a $12 per month membership fee, and each transaction costs $0.006 US for phone numbers in the USA and Canada, and $0.007 US for other countries.
Q. If I do a high volume of transactions, can I get a discount?
A. Our profit margins are already very slim. But for customers doing over 500,000 transactions per month, we can lower our pricing to $0.005 US each.
Q. Does your service take number portability into account?
A. We take number portability into account in every country except Canada. In fact if somebody ports their phone to a new carrier, our service will reflect the change within an hour!
Q. What countries are supported by Text@?
A. We currently support the USA and Canada (currently no LNP support in Canada). We are looking to expand our service into other countries, so please let us know which specific countries you are looking for.
Q. What information is returned by the Text@ service?
A. For each phone number you send, the service will send back the name of the carrier and whether the phone number is wireless or landline. If the phone number is to a wireless phone, the service will also return the e-mail address to use to send text messages to the phone, and the e-mail address to use to send MMS messages to the phone.
Q. What countries are supported by Text@
A. Right now, only the USA is supported. But contact us if you are interested in using Text@ for another country.
Q. What makes Carrier24-7 better than some of the free services I see on the Internet?
A. The free services (and most of the pay services as well) don't take number portability into account. As a result, when a subscriber for carrier A decides to change to carrier B and keep their same number, most services won't know about the change. Carrier24-7 will be aware of the carrier change within an hour.
Q. What does this service cost?
A. The service is priced the same as our Text@ service; $0.006 for USA/Canada, and $0.007 for other countries.

Q. What are your membership rates?
A. Data24-7 membership costs $12 per month. Members can access any of the Data24-7 products and services. Each service incurs transaction fees, and the amounts vary for each service. For example, the Text@ service costs $0.006 per transaction.
Q. Is your service pre-paid or post-paid?
A. Our service is pre-paid.
Q. What happens if my account runs out of money?
A. If your balance goes below $0, your service will become inactive and you will not be able to perform any more transactions. Once you create an account you can set-up custom "low balance reminder" emails, so you will be warned when your account balance becomes too low.
Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. The best way to pay us is using Paypal from within your account portal. As long as you send us an instant payment using this method, your balance will be updated immediately. Even if you don't have a Paypal account, you can use Paypal to pay by credit card. We can also accept personal checks and wire transfers, but your account will not be updated until the payment has cleared and appears in our account. For non-Paypal payments, please contact us first.

A. We're open from 8:30AM to 7:00PM, Eastern Time. But we're often checking and responding to messages after hours.
